A Biographical Analysis

Created as a visual presentation during the Holistic Biography Work training; published here as a web page, October 2026.

In this visual analysis, a graduate of the Holistic Biography Work training reads David Bowie’s life through the lenses taught in the program — life phases and planetary influences, temperament and Soul Type, trials, destiny moments and a karmic hypothesis. What the Analysis Covers

The analysis opens with Bowie’s own words — ‘just a mortal with potential of a Superman’ — and frames his career as a conscious search for the self: art and music not only as vehicles for stardom but as a personal odyssey of self-exploration, informed by his reading of philosophy, literature, the Kabbalah, Buddhism and esoteric teachings.

A life-phase table traces the biography in seven-year phases (septennials) with their planetary influences, from the post-war London childhood to the reformed man who emerges in the mid-thirties and the later creative phases. A karma chart distinguishes Nature-Karma, Affinity-Karma and Direction-Karma in his life.

Temperament and Soul Type follow: the primary choleric temperament — the extraordinarily strong will that did not waver — with a sanguine secondary; the Moon as primary Soul Type, giving the innate ability to absorb atmospheres, with Mercury, the adaptable and intelligent communicator, as secondary.

Three trials structure the middle of the analysis — the Fire Trial, the Water Trial of the addiction years, and the Air Trial — leading to destiny moments and turning points, the metamorphosis of his recurring themes (isolation, self-exploration, constant change), his Karmic Demands, and his life mission. The closing charts offer a karmic hypothesis — David Bowie as a spiritual seeker and explorer of the human condition — and end with Rudolf Steiner’s words on the faculties that slumber in every human being.
