Awakening the Will to Learn

Why do adults learn so differently from children? The difference between imitation, conditioning and individualisation.
This course builds on ADL-70: Core Principles, Skills & Practices in Adult Learning and is inspired by Coenraad van Houten’s research and publications.
ADL-71 Awakening the Will to Learn explores the nature of adult learning and the work of an adult educator.
During this course, you will learn more about adult learning and your own strengths and challenges as a learner. You will also learn more about what is means to be an educator working with adults, and how your skills in this area may be developed further.

All three Holistic Adult Learning modules start with ADL-70; available as a free download.

Online group-work explores:

Day one, shared by all ADL modules — the baggage and postcard exercises, and Steiner’s six basic exercises (from ADL-70).
Positive and challenging learning experiences — the nature of adult learning.
A learning process applied to Steiner’s seven principles of will in education.
Learning strengths and challenges, in relation to the 7-step learning process.
Myself as a learner — a self-assessment of learning styles and strengths.
A teaching perspective in an adult learning setting.
Myself as a teacher — a self-assessment of the educator’s faculties.
